Not inspired yet. . .

We have now been in our new house for a month.  during that time, I have gotten the kitchen, bedroom and guest bedroom settled (more or less).  I was waiting until I was excited and sewing until I did my first post from my new studio.  That will take a while.  There is some work to do in my studio that will do in a ceiling or two.  We then have to paint.  So I have been holding off unpacking in there.

The space is wonderful.  There are two rooms, one for sewing/working and one for an office for the computer, thinking and reading.  I also have a great space for dyeing.  But, I am stuck.

I actually have the sewing machine up, but have not done one stitch.  I am planning to buy some tables to have as my cutting area, but I’m not ready for them until we finish painting.

I do have the computer up in the office.  The ironing board is there too, so it is not on the same electrical circuit as the sewing machine.

It is wonderful to have my desk and computer up and running downstairs, however, take a look at the opposite corner of the office. . .

Where oh where is my stash. . . .
Where oh where is my stash. . . .

It will happen.  I will find my stash, and my books, and get rid of the boxes, the packing paper and the dreaded packing peanuts.  Meanwhile, I go to new quilt club meetings, see what others are doing and get inspired – again.

My strategy is to pull out some UFO as I find them (I have 2 out) and start work on them.  That will bring back my skills and drive as I continue to dig to find my tools and fabric.

  1. It looks like you have the same stuff I have! At least the sewing stuff is grouped together. It will happen soon. We still haven’t hung many things in our house but it is quite livable and I can sew. Miss you. Peace/Piece, Frances.
